What you do
Degrease the hood, ducts, fans, and plenums. That work sits under NFPA 96 cleaning intervals. You leave a cleaning sticker. You do not certify the chemical system.
What they are asking for
A licensed fire-equipment tech inspects the wet-chemical system (agent, fusible links, nozzles, detection, shutoffs) and affixes the six-month tag under NFPA 17A and NFPA 96. Different license. Different visit.

What the tag is
After a licensed technician inspects the wet-chemical system, they affix a dated certification tag showing the inspection date, license number, and next due date. Fire marshals look for that tag. It is required about every six months. A hood-cleaning certificate is not a substitute.
